Once again I’m weeks behind on the blog. We’ve been keeping up on schoolwork, but between doctor/dentist appointments and spending every possible moment out in the all-too-rare Oregon sunshine I haven’t had time to catch up here. There are worse problems to have 🙂 Anyway, here’s what we’ve been up to the last couple of weeks:
Blends: sw, st, fl, gl, cl, bl, pl, gr, fr, br, cr, pr, dr, tr (Brady’s reading fluency has grown by leaps and bounds over the past couple of weeks, truly amazing 🙂
Math: 6,7, and 8 times tables.
Time math: time to the quarter hour
Money math: adding and subtracting with coins
Geography: Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba
Art: coffee filter butterflies
But mostly we’ve been playing at the park
And at the beach
And attending fishing derbies.
And learning to cast.
And swimming in the backyard
And walking across giant water-filled bubbles
And bouncing on our new mini trampoline.
And playing in ballpits
And bounce castles
And just generally enjoying each other and the glory that is late Spring in Oregon. Brady has to have a very minor surgical procedure next week, but his hand will be bandaged for a week so we won’t be doing much in the way of formal schoolwork which means I probably won’t have anything to write about here. How are things in your homeschool? Are you wrapping up or do you school year-round Also I’ve decided against Story of the World as our History curriculum for next year so if you have any suggestions I’d love to hear them.
