Advent-Day 5

Today’s activity was inspired by Allison of Project: We See You and it’s one I’ve been really excited about. We got our (small) homeschool group together and filled bags to hand out to homeless people in our communities. Between 4 families we ended up making (I think) 13 bags filled with nutrigrain bars, nuts, juice boxes, cookies, socks, gloves, bandaids, cough drops, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mints, candy canes, kleenex, and handwipes

Today was a history day, school-wise so we talked about Katherine Lee Bates, identified some basic US topography

and then Brady painted a picture while listening to her song “America the Beautiful”

If you look closely you can see purple mountains majesty, blue skies, amber waves of grain, and he painted a US flag in the middle. He painted "Love you" on the bottom before giving me his picture the sweet kid :-)

We finished up the night tucked in the big bed watching “A Muppet Christmas Carol” and reading
